Eagle opens new state-of-the-art facility

Less than two years after establishing its base at Coffs Harbour, Eagle Australasia is proud to officially open its new maintenance facility, expanding operations in response to increasing demand. Eagle are now equipped to offer services ranging from scheduled helicopter servicing to complete helicopter refurbishment, including paint, customisation and complex avionics installations.

Eagle's Managing Director, Grant Boyter said the new facility, which includes two hangars as well as the existing 375sqm hangar, "has increased the capacity to meet lease fleet expansion plans as well as our customers ongoing maintenance support requirements."

“It’s only been almost two years since we established Eagle Australasia at Coffs Harbour and already the company has grown exponentially. Combining the talents of Australian company, Aero Assist, with the experience of one of the international leaders in the helicopter industry, Eagle Copters Ltd, in late 2013, Eagle Australasia began with just four full time staff. We now have 18 people in our team. There is also room for further expansion in the future which would double our capacity.”

"Eagle's location, midway between Sydney and Brisbane, is also of great benefit, as it is well situated to service clients throughout Australia," Boyter explains. "In addition, three airlines fly into Coffs Harbour Airport and, being on the Pacific Highway, we are well serviced by freight companies."

With the delivery of a specially designed structural fixture later this year, the facility will also be equipped for conversions of the new Eagle 407HP aircraft, which recently received certification.

Eagle Australasia also has a fleet of medium and large helicopters under lease throughout Australia and Indonesia. The fleet includes aircraft working in emergency services, mining exploration and fire fighting industries.

In Australia for the official opening, Eagle Copters Ltd CEO, Mike O’Reilly, said the Canadian team were proud and excited to be working with Grant and the Eagle Australasia team.

“Already we are achieving our combined goal to provide innovative solutions in sales, leasing, and MRO to the regional industry for existing and future customers,” O’Reilly explained.

With the opening of the new facility, it is clear this goal is being met.
